This large painting has huge impact and has proved to be a fairly popular image for I have had a number of commissions to paint this flower; each seems to get bigger and bolder. One gallery owner noticed that people crossed the road to come and see it! I find the Bird of Paradise to be almost animal-like with big, bold petals and stamens that reach out to you. The colours are so vibrant they challenge the artists palette. Medium: watercolour
