The leaflet was Designed by the Proprietor of
Target-art, E.
Waller.
Though we all tend to read
different things
at a different pace, I cannot help feeling that the
triptych was designed not just as an advertisement
of Target-art's prowess in art work but also with a
sense of humour. The Couple on either side of the
horse reminds me strongly of my esteemed local
doctor, Dr
Peter Ashby in Bell Surgery, Henley-on-Thames
with his
wife Meg. (Now both Retired)
Really
the impact was
Serious Realistic
painting, and not withstanding this, a joke that
eyes
to the left and to the right would cry 'horse'; a
voting
parliamentary joke on the countryside.
