There actually seems a reference to the art nouveau movement in the early
20th century, unusual though that is for Slater to pay homage, the work is organic
a trace from nature apparent; a pattern by human hand which is composed as it 
is natural for plants to have leaves and staid by human formulations.

The classic saturation of colour made as glass would, the scratchings of nervousness
that is foliage in the background is in essence a stitching of crosshatching and winding
down for the stalks and leaves to protrude for us to see.
