The movement of stones
Over recent years my art practice has focused on
constructed and engineered objects. These have
taken different forms, primarily automata and
clocks. My concerns in making these works were
ideas of decay, ruin and the nature of time.
Having recently begun a series of sculptures in
rock, I am now exploring and developing concepts
of latency, relative time and the realignment of
nature.
This significant development in my work takes my
practice into different realms, creating objects by
reduction rather than construction.
