This is a Surrealist figure
painting. The work is one of the first in a series of
paintings in my art movement called
Flourescence.
The bold lines represent
the interior
life of the body. It is not just a reference to the
spiritual presence of the figure but also the
contrasting cool and warm colours on the left show
liveliness and warmth in the concrete lines
depicting
the outline or physical form.
I felt that
it interesting
to try and bring outlines to life. Some of the best
portraits and works of art are where you get a
sense of a living and breathing subject. Life and a
celebration of vitality and the spirit.
