The sketchy nature of the work is satisfying in its cartoon and watercolour features. Cartoon in the sense 
that there is not an overdwelling of detail, more the essence of dimension and coloured facades. The hills painted with 
an aura of size and overpowering features over the little inlet of buildings. The artwork has an edge of the mid west,
isolated and in its own domain, the settlement is I am told is rural Derbyshire. I have to admit my idea of the county
is very different, yet the tailored garden and wall talks of the care given to the surroundings.
