The heavy reliance of black striations that mark the beach aside from the surrounding hills, denotes more a phycological piece. 
The hybrid of hills in the background is consciously painted with depth, through rich and transparency of colour. 
A successful painting with stipled and mopped watercolour. The work achieves what it aims to do and heralds a peeling away of nature.
