K. Evans studied Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art and at Reading University, graduating with a BA Honours degree in the 1980s. For the past seventeen years she has lived and worked in Dorset, where she is known for her energetic paintings inspired by the elusive wild hare. She studies and observes the antics of these creatures in the Dorset countryside near her home and attributes them with individual names and characters Krystyna also paints exuberant abstracts that are rich in colour. In these paintings she sources her imagery from plant and animal forms found in nature, the imagined lives of hares and stories from classical mythology. In addition to the paintings Krystyna has produced an ongoing series of collagraphs and one-off prints made using a traditional flat-bed printing press and also sculptures in a variety of media including plaster, papier mache and porcelain. She is a participating artist in Dorset Art Weeks and a member of Southern Contemporaries and is actively involved with local art organisations. Krystyna has exhibited widely at various venues throughout the South and has work in private collections and a public collection in the UK Krystyna was awarded Artist of the Year 2005 in her category from the Society of All Artists, Great Britain and she has work on permanent show in the Public Collection at Harefield Hospital. Recent exhibitions participated in; include the Royal West 0f England Academy inaugural Photographic exhibition Through the Lens 2008.
