Triple helix:
In an ex-nunnery and current museum of Galician
fishing, sits a triple helix staircase, originally built
to confuse invaders who wouldn't know which staircase
to take for the treasures and the nuns! It's now a tourist
attraction and a highlight of Santiago's varied
architecture.
This photo was taken, lying on the flagstones at the
bottom
of the staircase and led to a fair number of puzzled
tourists
